Routine eye exams are recommended once a year for everyone. After your appointment with us we hope you leave with a sense that we have performed an exam that surpasses your expectations. A complete examination at our office includes:
  • A review of your personal and family health history and any history of eye problems.
  • Evaluation of your distance and near vision
  • Evaluation for the presence of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism
  • Near vision testing to determine if you need reading glasses
  • Evaluation of your eyes' ability to work together as a team
  • An eye pressure test and examination of the optic nerve to rule out glaucoma
  • Examination of the exterior and interior of your eyes to rule out other eye problems

Have you been wearing those contacts for too long and now you notice discharge coming out of your eyes? Or were you doing yard work  without any safety glasses and you got a scratch in your eye? If you injured your eyes, or noticed changes to your vision, please proceed on the side of caution and get it looked at today. A lot of things that might seem innocuous can lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated. Here are some symptoms of an eye urgency/ emergency:
  • ocular discharge that has a white, yellow, or green color
  • blurry vision that won't clear up
  • painful red eye
  • new flashes, floaters or a curtain going over your vision
  • watery eye that won't stop
  • sharp stinging eye pain
  • double vision that doesn't go away

Contact Lens Evaluations

We understand that not everyone wants, or can afford, vision corrective surgery (like LASIK). Contact lenses can be that safe, cost effective alternative to glasses. If it's something that you want to wear all the time, or occasionally on the weekends, we can be that office to fit you into something that works. Here are some things about contacts that you might not know:
  • We can change your eye color with contacts.
  • Bifocal contacts can bring back reading vision that you used to have.
  • If you have Medicaid, they now cover contact lens fittings!
  • Our contact fittings trial period is 3 months and it includes followups and lens trials ensuring that we will end up with a lens that works for you!
